The South Ukrainian Energy Complex is the only enterprise in Ukraine making use of basic nuclear and hydro power capacities as well as water resources of the Pivdennyi Bug river. It is located in northern part of Nikolaev region.
Today, the Energy Complex includes the South Ukrainian nuclear power plants, Oleksandrivska hydro-electric power station and Tashlytska hydro-electric power station.
The South Ukrainian nuclear energy station has been providing excursions since the late 80's of twentieth century. All interested are welcome to visit the station, but he/she has to make a pre-application.
The excursion tour includes an overview of the South Ukrainian nuclear power station, the Tashlytska hydro-electric power station territory, information and cultural center "Impulse ", which provides models of nuclear reactors and power blocks. The visitors are usually deeply impressed by visiting a full-scale simulator , which has been built at the place of an unfinished fourth power block.
