Artem-1 Mine was commissioned in April 1963 with a design capacity of 2.2 million tons. It was built by the "Kryvbasrudbud" Complex. It is located in the southern part of Saksaganska ore strip. It was a part of the Kirov Mine Administration. In January 1964 the second phase was put into operation. In 1974, the skip hoist was decommissioned. Then it performed auxiliary functions.
Now it is being used as mining facility; is a part of Mining administration of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih". The iron ore content of deposits is 53.5%.
