YUVILEYNA MINE OF PJSC “EVRAZ SUKHA BALKA”

Yuvileyna Mine in Soviet times was a part of the XX Partz'izdu Ore Administration. Now it is a part of the production association "Evraz Sukha Balka" specializing at rich iron ore underground mining.

Mine was founded in 1975, the year of the 200th anniversary of Kryvyi Rih, that explains the name of the mine Yuvileyna (Jubilee). It was put into operation instead the "Tsentralna" and "Pivdenna" Mines.

Yuvileyna Mine is developing several disconnected pillar ore bodies which amalgamate at the -940 m horizon, forming a deposit up to 1300-1700 m and of a capacity of 10-15 to 55 m. The angle of incidence of the main and parallel deposits are 56 °. Hanging side of the deposit is made of martite and silicate-carbonate-magnetite ferruginous quartzites, and lying side is made of quartz-sericitic-chlorite schist.

The shaft of the Yuvileyna Mine is explored up to 1510 meters deep. It is equipped with a headframe of 104 meters high, which is equipped with a lift. The multirope double-chain elevators with skip hoists of 25 tons and one cage lift facilities have been installed at the 10 tons car. The Yuvileyna Mine comprises the shafts of the old auxiliary mines: Tsentralna, Pivnichna-Ventylyatsiyna, Pivdenna, named after Shylman. The Mine comprises the underground crushing and sorting complex.

The production capacity of the Mine is 2.2 million tons of rich ore. The Fe content is 58-59%.
