The Public Joint Stock Company (PJSC) "HeidelbergCement Ukraine" was formed on the basis of the Kryvyi Rih cement plant. It is located at 1 Aktsionerna St. The cement plant in Kryvyi Rih produces cement using the modern dry process and specializes in producing Portland cement and Portland blast-furnace slag cement, both bulk and bagged. There are 4 open circuit cement mills in the plant.Kryvyi Rih cement plant was put into operation in 1952. It utilizes slag and other metallurgical industry wastes of the Kryvyi Rih area. Since 1958 the plant has been utilizing raw materials from the Zhovtokam'yanskyi quarry: limestone and clay. The quarry is located 70 km away from the plant. Raw materials are delivered by rail transport. The enterprise has been rebuilt twice since its foundation. In December 1982 a new dry process production line, the only in Ukraine rotary kiln with a cyclone heat exchanger and a decarbonizer were put into operation. A proportioning section with six hoppers and weight belt feeders of "Shenk" company was built for proportioning raw material mixture. In 1991 obsolete, energy-intensive production lines were decommissioned.Since 2001, the Kryvyi Rih Cement Plant is a part of the HeidelbergCement Group. The largest industrial and technological modernization, significant transformations in the corporate governance were made at the plant. A corporate accounting system SAP was implemented.
