PJSC "Kryvorizkyi zalizorudnyi kombinat" (Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Works) is a successor of the production association "Kryvbasruda" (Kryvyi Rih Ore) and is regarded to be the largest underground ore mining enterprise in Ukraine.
The structure of the enterprise consists of extracting mines: Lenin, Gvardiyska, Zhovtneva, Rodina. Regular operation of mines is provided by auxiliary subdivisions: Repair-Mechanical Plant, Mine Construction and Mine Assembling Administration, Motor Transport Base, Railway Transport Administration, Repair and Construction and Energy Departments, central energy laboratory and logistics.
At present, the iron ore is being mined at the depths of 1190-1350 m. The reserves of natural rich iron ores are estimated as 235 million tons with an average iron content of 58.71% up to the depth of 1500 m.
The enterprise's production is sintering iron ore with an iron content of 50-60%, lump blast ore with an iron content of 47-50%.
PJSC "Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Works" provides an annual production of 6 million tons of iron ore. Its share in the domestic market of sintering ore is 40%.
