Modern Kryvyi Rih is a large and powerful industrial city ranking first by the volume of industrial production in Ukraine. The city is famous for its rich iron-ore deposits all over the world. A network of mines has been created in the city with the purpose of iron ore mining. Some mines have already reached the extraction at a depth of 1,5 km. The distinguishing feature of the city is 5 Mining and Concentrating Enterprises (North, Central, South, Ingulets) and the biggest enterprise of Europe PJSC ArcelorMittal Steel Kryvyi Rih which had played a crucial role in the formation of the city. In the process of human activities the steppe spaces were transformed into artificial mountain landscapes with moon sceneries. Kryvyi Rih is a powerful industrial center comprising both mining and factory-and-works objects of the branched structure.

In the Kryvyi Rih region there are:

45 iron ore working mines;
41 quarries, 11 ones are operating ones and impressively due to their gigantic size;
104 dumps of open mining rocks;
26 collapsing zones and caving zones in the mining fields;
15 sludge storages;
28 artificial speleological objects (open mine shafts of the abandoned mines, old galleries, drifts, mines, winzes, collapsing wells and others like that).

A considerable part of mining technogenic landscapes are peculiar for Kryvyi Rih.
The quarries occupy the area of 4,2 thousand hectare, dry rock dumps - 7,0 thousands hectare, sludge storage - 5,5 thousand hectare and collapsing zones occupy 3,4 thousand hectare.
On condition that the area of Kryvyi Rih is 431,4 square kilometers, the mining technogenic landscapes comprise 48,8% of the city territory.

City sightseeing tour is aimed at showing the main industrial centers of the city, old mines, historic places of the region, and peculiarities of the industrial history of the region. For a short time, one can see almost the whole city, its wide streets and residential areas, landscapes and monuments.

The route starts from the place of the confluence of the Saksagan and Ingulets rivers whence the city arose in 1775. You can see a repaired old bed of the Saksagan river, a boating station, a bridge of lovers, a memorial plaque to opening of a postal station, a monument of garden art - Park named after Pravda Newspaper.

Then the route goes through the old town streets - Lenin, Ukrainian, Kharitonova, Lermontov, Mira within the Tsentralno-Miskyi City District. At the beginning of the Ryazanov Street the route passes by a George high bell tower and the Victory Monument, which have been constructed in the memory of the liberators of the Kryvyi Rih city of the Third Ukrainian Front, on February 22, 1944.

Then the route goes along the Ryazanov street named after one of the directors of the Kryvyi Rih Metallurgical Works, across the Vorzalna street to the Chervona Railway Station. While moving down the Ordzhonikidze street the bus goes along the monuments near the central entrance of PJSC ArcelorMittal Steel Kryvyi Rih, monument to Jacob Vyesnik, the first director of the Kryvyi Rih Metallurgical Plant "Krivorizhstal".

On the Metallurgiv Avenue a guide will acquaint the visitors with the "Sotsgorod" – an old village of Kryvyi Rih Metallurgical Plant, the Metallurg Stadium – the main stadium of the city, underground speed tram station "Metallurgiv Avenue". At the first bus stop you will have an opportunity to see Europe's largest floral clock, square with a fountain in front of the Mayor's office and monument to a mythological figure "Kozak Kryvyi Rih" on foot.

Then the bus will get you to a circle of 95th quarter, which is famous all over the country and bore the name of the Kryvyi Rih club "Vechirniy kvartal". Afterwards the route goes along the the streets of Volgograd, Svitlohirskyy, Kaliningrad and Dyshynskoho and comes through the workers' villages of Kryvbas underground mines named after Dzerzhinsky, Kirov, Karl Liebknecht, Bolshevik. Through the window of the bus you will get a great opportunity to see headframes of the iron ore mines: Rodina, Gigant-Glyboka, Ventylyatsiyna-4, Artem-1, Kirova-Klitiova, Pivnichna, Skhidna, the deepest iron mine in Europe - Rodina. Among them there are streets of workers' settlements, houses of miners, gardens, cultural centers, stadiums, schools of miners' settlements. You will go near the estate of Alexander Pole who was the founder of industrial Krivbas.
